Alona Tal

Alona Tal, an Israeli-American singer and actress, was born on October 20, 1983 in Herzliya, Israel. She began her career after serving in the Israeli Defense Forces. Her acting debut was in an Israeli film in 2003. She was also a part of two Israeli television shows at the time. She also attempted to make music and recorded several songs along with Subliminal who is an Israeli rapper. Tal moved the city of New York with her sister. She collaborated with Wyclef Jean who is an Haitian artist in the hit song "Party to Damascus". She also made a name for herself on American television, beginning with a regular role on the series Veronica Mars: She originally tried out for the lead role, but creator Rob Thomas wrote a new character just for her. Tal eventually was offered an ongoing role in the short-lived CBS series. Prior to going to New York, Tal starred in two Israeli TV series. Wyclef Jean wrote a song. Hebrew is her mother tongue. Second choice for the character of Veronica on Veronica Mars (2004).Originally auditioned for Veronica Mars (2004) and was Rob Thomas' second choice for the lead role. Thomas liked her so much that he made the character that would play Meg Manning specifically for her. She served in the Israel Defense Forces. Both her parents are Jewish and her father is Jewish/Turkish, and her mother is Polish/Jewish. She plays Adrian Monk's wife. She was murdered in the last episode of Monk (2002).
